I founded my law practice in 2008 following the restructuring and sale of my employer, NEON Communications, Inc. After securing my first major client I returned to industry on an interim basis as the same client's full-time general counsel. I later returned to my own practice following the client's successful restructuring and sale. The broad operational and corporate skills that have become a focus of my practice were developed through these and other positions as described below:
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Veroxity Technology Partners, LLC
Veroxity was a telecommunications company focused on enterprise markets. After representing Veroxity through my private practice, I accepted a full-time position and played a critical role in restructuring the company and managing its successful sale to Lightower Fiber Networks.
Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary at NEON Communications, Inc.
NEON was a telecommunications carrier selling primarily in the carriers-carrier market. In this role, I managed NEON’s legal department, reporting directly to the CEO. I transitioned the company from bankruptcy protection, restructured legal operations, supported aggressive growth and managed the successful sale of the company to Globix Corporation, followed by restructuring of Globix and a second sale to RCN Corporation.
Commercial Manager & Counsel at Limbach Company
Limbach was a large mechanical contractor with a division in power plant construction. I managed commercial aspects of combined cycle power plant construction projects and later transferred to Limbach’s legal department, supporting the same projects.
National Construction Manager & Counsel at Enron Energy Services Operations, Inc.
EES was the energy services and retail sales arm of Enron Corp. I began as National Construction Manager and played a key role in developing a new operational infrastructure for EES’ energy services and managed aspects of engineering and construction operations. I later transferred to EES’ legal department supporting the very same operations.
Engineering Positions at Riley Stoker Corporation
I began my professional career at Riley, which was an OEM of steam generation systems for utility and industrial power plants. I held positions as a field engineer, design & project engineer and finally as a proposal engineer. This provided broad experience in sales support, project execution, commissioning and customer acceptance of complex engineered systems, as well as regulatory compliance under the Clean Air Act.
Education and Licenses
I earned my Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine. I am licensed to practice law, a registered professional engineer and a notary public, each in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
